ISOO is announcing a change in the way that it will issue ISOO and CUI Notices moving forward.
As of 2026, to support a modernized government information management landscape that must consider both classified information and controlled unclassified information (CUI) as having national security implications, guidance that in the past may have been issued as an ISOO Notice or CUI Notice will be issued in a single series of ISOO Notices.
CUI Notices that ISOO has previously issued in its role as CUI Executive Agent continue to remain in effect in their current format and will not be renamed. However, future guidance that may have in the past been issued as a CUI Notice will be issued as an ISOO Notice moving forward.
