The Information Security Oversight Office is responsible to the President for policy and oversight of the Government-wide security classification system under Executive Order 13526, Controlled Unclassified Information under Executive Order 13356, and the National Industrial Security Program under Executive Order 12829, as amended. ISOO also provides logistical and administrative support to the Interagency Security Classification Appeals Panel and the Public Interest Declassification Board. ISOO receives policy and program guidance from the National Security Council.
